From sleepy hippie towns to wildlife-filled spaces, we came up with a list of B.C. fall road trips that need to be done sooner rather than later.

Summer was fun but it’s time to take part in the season that gives us pumpkin spice lattes, scarves, and cozy clothes.

All those hikes you know and love are just as amazing in the fall. This means its time to fill up the car with gas, pick up some friends, and hit the open road.

We came up with nine must-do fall road trips around B.C.

The scenery in all these locations is beyond beautiful and it's something you need to see to believe.

Right now is the perfect time to go since summer tourism has come to an end. So it'll just be you, your BFF, and the locals.

Do you really need more of a reason to go?

Nelson

Why You Need To Go: A charming hippie town? Check. Local bars and eateries? Check. Massive lakes and hikes? Check. What more could you possibly need? Put on your beanie and grab your to-go mug because this charming town will capture your heart and make you feel like you’re on another planet.

Prince George

Why You Need To Go: This Northern B.C. town is up and coming. Filed with some amazing restaurants, shops, hikes, and lakes, it’s the perfect mixture of city life and nature-filled adventure. The drive up north this time of year is perfect so take it all in and be sure to stop along the way.

Smithers

Why You Need To Go: This sleepy little town is the perfect place if you want a quiet fall season. Known as the best fishing destination out there, you'll be one with nature. As the leaves begin to change, you’ll be in a colourful wonderland. Keep an eye out, wildlife is always round the corner.

Osoyoos

Why You Need To Go: Nestled in the Okanagan is a place like no other. The trees in the area are massive and turn to become some of the brightest yellows and oranges. There’s wine in the area so be sure to hit up a couple of tours.

Tofino

Why You Need To Go: The fall time in Tofino is the best time to go because it’s storm season. While you may not want rain when you’re on a vacation, you will when you’re here. Sit on the beach under an umbrella and watch the massive waves roll in.

Bowen Island

Why You Need To Go: The island is one of the top places to go during this chilly season. Things turn colourful and the town gest sleepy making it the perfect time to get out and explore some iconic hikes. The sea air is super crisp and you'll wake up every day feeling refreshed and recharged.

Nanaimo

Why You Need To Go: If you like water actives then this spot is for you. From kayaking to swimming and paddleboarding, the fall is the perfect time to spend on the relaxing water. There are even gorgeous waterfalls in the area so grab a coffee from a local business and hit the trails.

Haida Gwai

Why You Need To Go: There are tons of little cottages to stay in that practically scream fall. Expect to put the phone away and completely disconnect from reality. There are tons of hiking trails to explore and the lush forest in the fall time gets even more gorgeous.

Similkameen Valley

Why You Need To Go: The days may get shorter but it doesn’t get any less beautiful here in the Similkameen Valley. During the fall, the farmers market is bustling so be prepared for fresh produce and hand made gifts. There’s even wine in the area for all you vino lovers out there.
