Clark Creek Natural Area is located about 20 miles west of Woodville, Mississippi and is just a hop, skip, and a jump from New Orleans. If you are looking for just a day trip or a place to spend a relaxing weekend, this is your spot.
Clark Creek has about 50 waterfalls and many hiking trails. You'll want to take the Clark Creek Trail to the Waterfall Trail to get the best experience at this destination.
From start to finish, this trail rounds out to be around three miles long, so you won't be spending your day dying on this trail. It's rated as moderate, so your calves might be burning as you gain some elevation in the middle of your hike, but it won't take too much out of you.
As you descend, there will be a series of wooden bridges and stairs you'll have to conquer before continuing on your trek to the waterfalls.
You'll see a few waterfalls on this hike and while none of them are larger than 20 to 30 feet in height, they're still beautiful and cool to look at.
You can pretty much decide how far you want to go into the trail, depending on how much time you have and how many waterfalls you want to see. There are creeks and streams all throughout the trail, so if you follow them upstream, they'll lead you to all the waterfalls on the trail.
