This state park in Tennessee will make you feel like you're right in the middle of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
Roan Mountain in Carter County, Tennessee will make you feel like you've been transported across the country. There are 12 miles of , but taking the most strenuous one will give you some pretty insane views.
The mountains surround you while you hike, which makes for a few great photos. The elevation of the park ranges anywhere from 3,000 feet when you are in the valley of the mountains to around 3,700 feet when you're on the ridges.

At the base of the mountains, the State Park encompasses over 2,000 acres of southern Appalachian forest. You'll walk through a portion of that on any trail you choose to take.
If you want to see everything this State Park has to offer, the Chestnut Ridge Trail is a great choice. This is the most difficult trail in the park, but it's worth it. Coming in at 1.95 miles, you'll climb through the deep hardwood forest to the Miller Farmstead on Strawberry Mountain.
The views throughout this trail are absolutely amazing, and your followers on Instagram might think you're in Colorado instead of Tennessee. Primetime to explore this park is during the winter months because the snow makes it look even more magical than it already is.
The park is open year-round so any time you visit the area would be a great time to stop off at this spot. There is no charge to enter and explore, so you have nothing to lose!
