BC's weather forecast calls for 'back-to-back systems' and an atmospheric river
Get out your rain coat!

Rain in Vancouver.
Hope you didn’t get too comfortable with the dry weather, Vancouver — because the rain is about to make a serious comeback.
According to The Weather Network (TWN), the South Coast is in for a soggy stretch, with back-to-back systems bringing rain through the rest of the week and into the weekend. Vancouver and the Lower Mainland are expected to see up to 20 mm of rainfall between Wednesday and Thursday, and will be "heavy at times" throughout the day on Thursday.
But that's just the warm-up. An atmospheric river is forecasted to hit the region this weekend. "An atmospheric river will be impacting the United States southwest, but we're going to see some of that excess moisture spill northward into the South Coast. While the atmospheric river will be fairly weak, folks can expect heavy rainfall that could cause some localized flooding," TWN said.
The Lower Mainland could see anywhere from 50 to 100 mm of rain through Saturday.
And it's not just about the rain — temperatures are on the rise too. Vancouver's daytime highs are expected to reach 10°C by the weekend, bringing warmer conditions to higher elevations as well. TWN warns that some ski resorts could see rain instead of snow, which might increase the risk of avalanches.
So, if you're in Vancouver, keep those rain boots and umbrellas close, because this weekend is shaping up to be a wet one!
