Active COVID-19 Cases In BC Have Tripled Between July And August

August has been a bumpy ride for COVID-19 in B.C. and even though the month's not over yet, active cases have tripled since July.

In her update on Thursday, August 27, Dr. Bonnie Henry reported that there had been 68 new cases identified in the province — this comes after a long trend of spiking cases.

There are currently 906 cases total in the province, which is substantially more than there was less than one month ago.

For example on July 31, there were 278 active cases and back in April, our curve was way flatter than the other provinces'.

The province also showed off a new map in the update which is our first look at the full geographic picture of how it has spread.
