Calling all food fans! This summer, a massive food truck festival in B.C. is bringing tons of tasty treats straight to Metro Vancouver. The festival will be returning to the same spot all summer long, so you'll always have something to look forward to on weekends. To keep with new distancing guidelines, they've got some new rules in place too.

The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival is holding the first of many foodie fairs in Burnaby, on Saturday, June 20. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission is completely free.

Every other week, a bunch of food trucks will take over the Grosvenor venue in the Brentwood neighbourhood, offering tons of great takeout meals.

However, to keep people safe, a maximum of 50 people will be allowed in at a time. Social distancing guidelines will also be implemented.

The festival will be held throughout the summer, returning every second Saturday. They'll also be switching out their food trucks with every return, so no two visits will be alike.

"As things kind of allow it we are going to grow and do some more fun things," they explained in a Facebook video.

You'll find food trucks like Mollie's Mini's, Next Gen. Concessions, REEL Mac and Cheese, Street Dogs, and so much more.

The venue also comes with complimentary parking and is located right next to a SkyTrain station, so the place is easily accessible for most visitors.

The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival told Narcity that safety is their priority during the event, so all staff will be wearing masks.

Additionally, any entertainment will be behind plexiglass shields.

"Sanitization stations will be on site, including one at the front gate. Washrooms are to be sanitized every hour by GVFTF staff," a spokesperson added.

There's been a ton of local food festivals in the Vancouver area lately, from all-vegan outdoor markets to other, similarly delicious food truck gatherings.

As summer finally arrives in normally-rainy B.C., nothing hits the spot better than some delicious street food. Plus, you'll be supporting a ton of great local businesses too.

It's time to get out there on the weekend and try something new.
