Canadians named this BC small town as one of the best in the country for 'quality of life'
Time for a summer getaway!

Small town in B.C.
From little communities with mountain views, to lakeside retreats offering a slow pace of life, B.C. is full of small towns with nature at the doorstep — making a balanced life that much easier.
This small town with an idyllic lakeside, cute downtown area, and a scenic landscape has been named among the best in the country for quality of life, in a Narcity poll.
Oliver is a tiny spot in B.C.'s Okanagan region, often overlooked thanks to the many other charming communities surrounding it, but it holds its own. It's known as the "wine capital" of Canada, which is a pretty spot-on title.
Rolling hillside vineyards are all around the town, and it's also home to the District Wine Village, where you can find 12 different wineries in one spot.
While it's definitely a plus, there's a lot more than wine that the town offers.
Oliver is just 20 minutes from Osoyoos — a bigger town with more amenities — and about an hour and a half from the city of Kelowna. It makes this spot accessible and not isolated, while still maintaining a small-town feel to it.
Work-life-balance here means grabbing a paddle board and heading out onto the lake that the town is set beside. Tuc-el-nuit Lake is beautiful and even has sandy shores that are perfect for a mid-day picnic.
Rotary Beach is the popular spot here for relaxing and soaking up the sun.
Sunny days aren't hard to come by here either. The town is set on "the northernmost point of the Great Basin Desert," according to the tourism website.
While the town of Oliver is small, it's got a lot to offer. You've got farm-to-table restaurants, cute shops, local artisans, and of course — wine.
This little spot is a gem in the Okanagan, perfect for a summer escape.
