Days out on the lake, vineyard tours and sandy beaches await you in this small town in B.C. It's a summer haven with warm temperatures, endless sunny days, and beautiful views.

Set in the Okanagan Valley, Osoyoos is a beloved summer retreat for people in B.C., and Narcity readers just shouted it out on the Facebook page as one of the best vacation spots in the entire country. Osoyoos stands out among other destinations, with its unique desert landscape and many claims to fame.

The lake is a landmark of the little town, as the warmest fresh-water lake in Canada. In the height of summer, the water averages a toasty 24°C, making it the ideal swimming spot. The area surrounding the shoreline is also one of a kind, though.

Osoyoos is home to Canada's only desert, with unique vegetation and ecosystem. You can explore it by visiting the Osoyoos Desert Centre or Nk'Mip Desert Cultural Centre and taking a tour.

The hot and dry weather calls for many days on the lake, swimming, boating, or paddle boarding. There are beaches scattered around the lakeshore, and Gyro Beach is the largest, located right at the bottom of Main Street in town.

The town itself gives off beach vibes, with restaurants, shops, and cafes all walking distance from the sandy shores. It's bustling, especially in the summer, with vibrant businesses and many local storefronts.

It's all set along the rolling mountains' backdrop, creating a uniquely picturesque vacation.

You can spend your whole trip just wandering around town and enjoying the sun by the lake, but there's much to explore in the surrounding area. The Okanagan Valley is famous for its wine, so you can tour the many surrounding vineyards to enjoy some sips or visit the District Wine Village to taste a few in one spot.

There are also lots of hikes nearby and even other small towns to day trip to. If you're up for some exploring, Spotted Lake is a must-see wonder just outside of town. It's famous for its colourful spots that appear during the summer as the water evaporates.

All in all you'll find lots of beauty, sun, and fun in this little town.
