A Man Has Been Charged Following The Viral Vancouver Stalking Incident

The 33-year-old has been charged with criminal harassment.

In March 2021, a Vancouver stalking incident went viral on social media after a woman shared videos of a man who allegedly followed her for 40 minutes. 

On April 15, Vancouver Police announced that a 33-year-old man who resides in Vancouver with no fixed address has been charged with criminal harassment.

“This case generated significant attention on social media and in the mainstream news after a video was posted online last month,” said Constable Tania Visintin, VPD. “We understand the incident caused anxiety in the community, and we’re pleased with the outcome of the investigation.”

The man was also charged for several other incidents including a second criminal harassment charge, mischief, breaking and entering, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats. 

According to the police, the man is currently in custody.
