A series of damaging weather events in Alberta has cost the province a whopping $2 billion.
These four events took place from April to August and resulted in thousands of people issuing damage claims, according to a recent news release.

The insurance industry is working to process the nearly 100,000 claims.

The first of these expensive storms took place in April when Fort McMurray flooded — causing $522 million in damage.
Two storms in June and July, that both happened to hit Calgary, caused $135 million in damages.
And the last major two-day storm of the summer took place on Sunday, August 2 and Monday, August 3 which caused $58 million in damages.
