As soon as fall comes around, it's time to start getting excited about bonfires, breaking out the sweatshirts and flannels, and attending all the fairs around your state. While many may have been canceled for 2020, the Georgia State Fair is not one of them. Starting this Friday, you can get all the sweet treats and over-sized stuffed animals your heart desires.
The Georgia State Fair is on for the 2020 season and is one of the only, if not the only, one still taking place. As soon as you drive up, you'll be hit with all the nostalgia as you see the bright Ferris Wheel and the huge light-up concession stand signs. What could be the more perfect way to ring in fall than going with your best friends, or making a fun and romantic date night out of it?

What attractions and shows can you expect this year?
The fair has a ride for literally everyone. Whether you like the thrills of rides like the Cliff Hanger, Starship 3000, Free Fall, and Crazy Mouse, or the smoother experience of ones like the Giant Wheel, Wave Swinger, or the Firestorm, this fair has it all.
As for the shows, you won't be disappointed. You can watch pig racing, go through a petting zoo, see Lady Houdini escape from being locked underwater, admire rare White Tigers, watch a show all about wolves, and catch an incredible circus.
When and where will it take place?
You can enjoy the fair from October 2 through October 11 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. You'll have ten days to enjoy this annual event and might even want to go a few days while it's in town.
Admission for those 13 and over is $10, but, you can get free entry on Monday and Wednesday with a coupon by signing up with your email.
As for the thrills, on most days the wristband for unlimited rides is $25, or you can buy individual tickets for around $1.25 each. There are some deal days available though, so make sure you check the website before attending if you're looking to save a little cash.
Are there COVID-19 guidelines in place?
Guests must wear masks at all times, with the exception of eating and drinking in designated mask-off areas. There will also be temperature checks and a travel questionnaire all visitors must fill out.
As for social distancing, all rides and concessions will have dividers that'll be strictly enforced, according to the event website. In the rest of the park, everyone needs to keep a six feet distance, except for when near those in your own party.
