Four families from Saskatchewan had a nightmare of a summer getaway in B.C. 

On early Tuesday morning, August 4, a massive blaze engulfed a houseboat on Mara Lake, prompting an intense evacuation and rescue operation in the middle of the night. Five crews from the Sicamous Fire Department attended the scene of the B.C. houseboat fire

The fire was "resolved" and everybody was able to escape safely.

The families lost essential items such as credit cards, forms of identification, cash, and car keys, amongst others, in the fire. 

The fire department said that they haven't been able to determine the cause of the fire but the investigation is still ongoing.
