Canadians say they'd 'love' to move to this storybook Ontario town nestled between 2 lakes

It's home to cascading waterfalls and cozy shops.

Lead Writer, Travel

This quaint Ontario town has rushing waterfalls, cozy cafes, and beautiful scenery, so it's no surprise Canadians say they'd love to move there. Offering small-town charm and a peaceful lifestyle, it's a dreamy spot to call home.

In a post on Narcity Canada's Facebook page, we asked readers which Canadian small town they'd love to move to, and this quaint waterside village was one of the places mentioned.

Fenelon Falls is an enchanting hidden gem situated in the scenic Kawartha Lakes region. Dubbed the "Jewel of the Kawarthas," the charming town is nestled between Cameron Lake and Sturgeon Lake, boasting landmarks, dining experiences, local shops, and more.

Home to just 2500 permanent residents, this little village is an idyllic spot for anyone looking for a peaceful lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of the city. During the summer months, the town becomes more lively due to tourism and cottagers.

According to Explore Fenelon Falls, "the 'Jewel' sparkles with geographical beauty, offering waterfalls, waterways, the gorge, and all that nature has to offer."

You can spend your days strolling through the downtown area, which offers quaint boutiques, cozy cafes, and delicious eateries.

The town is home to a number of attractions, such as the Grove Theatre — a stunning outdoor amphitheatre, and the Fenelon Falls museum. It also features a section of the Trent-Severn Waterway, where you can watch boats drifting by.

One of the best ways to enjoy the beauty of the area is the 85-km Victoria Rail Trail that runs through the town, linking other quaint communities.

Explore Fenelon Falls reports that residents are "friendly, warm and welcoming – embracing family values and country roots."

It also highlights that it's an "inclusive and supportive community that addresses the social, recreational and spiritual needs of its residents, with a focus on healthy living and well-being. Residents of Fenelon Falls live, work and play in the community, while feeling safe and secure alongside their neighbours."

This charming village offers scenic living without the hefty price tag found elsewhere in Ontario. According to Zolo, the average cost for a house in Fenelon Falls is $632,600 in September 2025.

With beautiful surroundings and cottage country charm, Fenelon Falls is a dream spot for Canadians to move to.
