There's no shortage of charm in this stunning Ontario small town. The destination boasts turquoise waters, sandy beaches and quaint streets that will make you feel like you've stepped into a storybook.

Country Living recently published a list of "42 Ever-So-Charming Canadian Towns You'll Wish You Had Known About Sooner," showcasing some of "the best small towns, villages, and smaller cities" nationwide.

This hidden gem Ontario town was among the destinations featured, and it's worth a road trip.

Wellington, a picturesque village nestled in beautiful Prince Edward County, is known for its wineries, cuisine, vibrant galleries, and outdoor adventures—making it an idyllic spot for a staycation.

You can spend an afternoon wandering through the small but quaint downtown and checking out the local shops and eateries.

During the warmer months, you can treat yourself to a cone from The Old Greenhouse Ice Cream Shop and enjoy iced coffee from the cafes.

The region is dotted with stunning wineries, such as Sandbanks Estate Winery, where you can relax and sip the day away while soaking up vineyard views.

No trip to Wellington would be complete without enjoying the beautiful waterfront, and there are several gorgeous spots to take a dip.

Wellington Rotary Beach is a popular destination for walking, biking, swimming and surfing, so don't forget to pack your bathing suit.

Just a short drive from the town is Sandbanks Provincial Park, home to three breathtaking white sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters that are straight out of the Caribbean.

Other fun activities in the Wellington area include exploring the Wellington Farmers' Market and visiting the Wellington Heritage Museum.

If you're planning a weekend getaway, the Drake Devonshire is a luxurious all-season lakeside hotel, restaurant, bar and event space located in the town. You can also enjoy a beautiful stay at the Lakeside Motel, where you'll find tropical vibes and a waterfront patio.

Keep in mind that many attractions are seasonal, so it's a good idea to check in advance before heading out.

Pack your bags and enjoy a staycation at this local gem.
