CBSA, which is the country's federal law enforcement agency, is currently recruiting for the Inland Enforcement Officer Trainee and Border Services Officer Trainee programs.
The positions are located in cities, towns and remote communities across the country.
You get paid between $78,769 and $87,708 while you're in the training program for these CBSA jobs.
But you can make even more than that after you complete the training!
Inland Enforcement Officers work at Immigration Holding Centres in Canada.
These officers are responsible for various duties like administration, contract monitoring and reporting, detainee case management, detainee intervention, and liaising with stakeholders.
The salary is from $78,769 to $87,708 for trainees.
You must successfully complete the Officer Induction Training Program, and then you'll continue as an Inland Enforcement Officer Trainee in the Officer Induction Development Program.
After you successfully complete the Officer Induction Development Program, you'll become an Inland Enforcement Officer.
Border Services Officers work at ports of entry across the country, including land border crossings and airports.
These officers facilitate trade and travel, and prevent prohibited goods and inadmissible people from entering Canada.
The salary is $78,769 to $87,708 during training.
You must successfully complete the Officer Induction Training Program. Then, you will work as a Border Services Officer Trainee in the Officer Induction Development Program.
After you successfully complete the Officer Induction Development Program, you'll become a Border Services Officer.
That's when the salary increases, and you can make between $85,211 and $101,058 a year.

Who Should Apply: Anyone residing in Canada, and Canadian citizens and permanent residents living abroad can apply.
You must have a high school diploma or an employer-approved alternative.
Alternatives include a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test or a combination of education, training, and experience.
It's required that you have experience in effectively de-escalating difficult situations within an enforcement or mental health environment.
Also, you must have:
- a valid, unrestricted driver's license that allows you to drive a motor vehicle in Canada
- a valid Standard First Aid Certificate from a qualified provider approved by a province or territory in Canada
- a valid Canadian passport
- successfully completed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course
You need to be able to:
- travel as requested in Canada, the U.S. or internationally
- carry, use and maintain CBSA-issued defensive equipment as required, including a firearm
- carry and use a cell phone or another mobile communication device and be available after hours on a call-back or stand-by basis, as required
- wear and maintain a uniform
- work overtime as required
- work a 24/7 rotational shift schedule or work various shifts on rotation, including weekends and statutory holidays
Some positions require you to know English, but others require you to be bilingual in English and French.

You must have a high school diploma or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test as an alternative.
No experience is required for this job.
But it's an asset if you have experience working in a relevant law enforcement environment, experience de-escalating difficult situations, experience as a Student Border Services Officer, or experience in the Canadian Armed Forces.
It's required that you have:
- a valid, unrestricted driver's license that allows you to drive a motor vehicle in Canada
- a valid Standard First Aid Certificate from a qualified provider approved by any province or territory in Canada
- successfully completed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course and passed the tests
You must be able to:
