An Alberta Cop Got Attacked With Their Own Baton During An Arrest Gone Wrong

The suspect threatened others with the same baton.

Things took a turn during an arrest in Alberta Walmart parking lot. On Tuesday, July 7, a Cold Lake RCMP officer moved to arrest a male suspect who was thought to have stolen a vehicle. 

The arrest turned violent as the suspect began punching the Mountie in the head, according to a report by the RCMP. 

The RCMP member’s baton was taken by the male and the member was struck in the head numerous times with the baton.

The suspect then ran away with the baton and tried to steal another car. 

The man did manage to steal the vehicle after threatening the driver with a knife and the baton. He was soon arrested by law enforcement after a car chase. 

The RCMP officer who was hit suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
