Narcity spoke with Tanya Jarrett, chief people officer at the company, to find out how Alida's unlimited time off policy works.

Jarrett said there haven't been "any significant drawbacks" that the company has experienced since unlimited vacation was introduced.

"While there's no sort of fixed amount, we really do encourage our employees to take around a minimum of four weeks per year," the executive revealed.

If employees need or want more time off during the year, they're still able to take vacation days beyond those four weeks that employees are encouraged to take.

All it depends on is advance notice to ensure that everyone is able to get time off whenever they want or need it.
