Canadian shoppers have revealed which Costco products are always worth buying.

You might not expect it, but the top items people recommend aren't food!

Narcity posted on Facebook and asked shoppers which products are always worth buying at Costco Canada.

There have been more than 150 comments so far and over 45 product recommendations.

The products that are always worth buying at Costco are toilet paper and paper towels, according to Canadian shoppers.

Then, the next most popular items are: food court hot dogs, cheese (including feta, gouda, and parmesan), garbage bags and rotisserie chicken.

"None of you are saying the hot dog. We all damn well know it's the hot dog that is always worth buy," someone commented. Obviously, people agreed!

Another shopper said that you can't get a rotisserie chicken for cheaper at a grocery store.

"It's fully cooked and ready for a salad or a sandwich or dinner," they said.

Many people said coffee, bread, nuts, mayonnaise, fruit (including bananas, raspberries, melon and pineapple) and meat (including beef, steaks, bacon, pork chops and chicken wings) are the best products.

Some people commented that medications, including prescriptions from the pharmacy and over-the-counter items like Advil and Kirkland Signature acetaminophen, are always worth getting at Costco.

A few people said olive oil, tissues, vitamins, bodywash, ketchup, butter, eggs, popcorn, snacks and wet wipes are items worth spending money on.

Then, these Costco products were only named once:

  • Ziploc bags
  • laundry pods
  • detergent
  • softener
  • dryer sheets
  • shampoo
  • avocadoes
  • stuffed peppers
  • fish
  • chicken pot pie
  • pot stickers
  • mustard
  • humus
  • cream cheese
  • milk
  • Kirkland Signature marinara sauce
  • crackers
  • oatmeal cookies
  • bottled water
  • disposable gloves
  • razors
  • cleaning supplies
  • razors

Someone commented that it's always worth buying "bulk frozen boxes of anything from the bakery section."

Many shoppers said there are too many Costco products to list because the wholesale retailer offers a "far better value."

"Everything is worth buying at Costco," another person said.

"Most things are more reasonably priced, and not only when buying large quantities," someone said.

Another shopper recommended name-brand products from Costco because they're cheaper.

Someone else commented that they only go to Costco every six months and are able to stock up on enough that they haven't needed to go to Walmart in more than a year.

Not everyone agreed that shopping at Costco is worth it.

"You have to know your products, some things are cheaper at local grocery stores," someone said.

"Nothing, I'm not paying a fee to shop at a store," one Canadian commented.

But a few Costco shoppers disagreed and said you save more than you pay for a membership.

Also, with the Executive membership, you get enough money back that it pays for the cost of that membership, according to shoppers.

Recently, Narcity asked Canadians what the best cheap grocery stores are and what their favourite grocery stores in Canada are. Costco was a top choice for both!

"We have it and my husband won't give it up. I hate that I have to pay to buy groceries." 👀
