The Weather Network released Canada's summer forecast on Tuesday, June 1, and it looks like Alberta's summer weather is going to be absolutely scorching.

TWN is calling for a hot and dry summer in the province, especially in Southern and Central Alberta. This includes places like Calgary and Edmonton and their surrounding areas.

The Weather Network

Experts at The Weather Network are concerned about the above-normal temperatures and below-normal precipitation for more than one reason. First, they fear "worsening drought conditions during July and August with a risk for major impacts to agriculture."

In addition, they note the "heightened risk for wildfires and the associated periods of poor air quality."

In the north, active storms are predicted with lots of showers and thunderstorms.
