Get ready to apply! 📢 pic.twitter.com/giwz0yc6GA— Carla Qualtrough (@CQualtro) December 16, 2020\n\nThese new jobs will mean a 50% increase from the 80,000 Canadian summer jobs that were given the green light in 2020, according to the announcement.\nThe government said they are working off of the promises made in both the Fall Economic Statement and the Speech from the Throne that pledged to help young Canadians by creating paid work opportunities. \n“Canada Summer Jobs has a major role in supporting employers and youth during these unprecedented times," Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion, Carla Qualtrough, said. \n"I’m looking forward to seeing this year’s approved projects, which will make a real difference in the lives of so many Canadians.” \nThe application period for employers who want to be a part of the program will open on December 21, 2020, and end on January 29, 2021.
