The government said they are working off of the promises made in both the Fall Economic Statement and the Speech from the Throne that pledged to help young Canadians by creating paid work opportunities. “Canada Summer Jobs has a major role in supporting employers and youth during these unprecedented times," Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion, Carla Qualtrough, said. "I’m looking forward to seeing this year’s approved projects, which will make a real difference in the lives of so many Canadians.” The application period for employers who want to be a part of the program will open on December 21, 2020, and end on January 29, 2021.
