If the great north was your oyster where would you pack up and move to?

For most Canadians, one province might come to mind over others, now that the most livable places in Canada were just revealed.

The study, done by Leger and RATESDOTCA, revealed that Langford, B.C., came in first place and was described as "an attractive, small but fast-growing west coast city."

Kelowna, B.C., followed suit, with Trois-Rivières, Quebec, tailing close being.

According to the report, 23% of people who packed up and moved last year, or at least wanted to, said the pandemic was to blame.

Additionally, Canadians have found themselves moving to smaller towns and away from bigger cities in general, the report explained.

Affordability was actually the most important factor overall in seeing which place would reign supreme, followed by the location's scenery, economic and job growth, the size of the city or town as well as outdoor activities.

What's interesting is that Langford, B.C., despite having the highest average home price, mortgage payment and minimum income required, was still ranked the highest on the list.

In fact, the province of B.C. had five locations in the top 10 rankings, making it the most sought-after province in the country.

Here are the top 10 most livable places in Canada for 2021:

  • Langford, B.C.
  • Kelowna, B.C.
  • Trois-Rivières, QC
  • Bathurst, NB
  • Rossland, B.C.
  • Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON
  • Cowichan Bay, BC
  • Sydney, NS
  • Penticton, B.C.
  • Quebec City, QC
