Over a week after Joe Biden was projected to be the new U.S. president, it appears Donald Trump is still unwilling to concede.

In a tweet shared just before midnight on November 15, Trump wrote, “I WON THE ELECTION!”

Shortly after it was posted, the message was flagged by Twitter as being potentially misleading, with a pop-up message that said, “Official sources called this election differently.”

Hours earlier, he also tweeted, "We won’t let a RIGGED ELECTION steal our Country!"

Joe Biden was projected as the new American president on November 7, a result which Trump has refused to accept.

Since the initial projections were announced, the soon-to-be-former leader has taken to social media to claim he is the real winner and has suggested the election process was fraudulent.

Over the past 24 hours, he has stepped-up the accusations via Twitter, describing the election as “rigged” on multiple occasions.

“RIGGED ELECTION. WE WILL WIN!” he wrote on November 15.

“He [Biden] only won in the eyes of the FAKE NEWS MEDIA. I concede NOTHING!” he added just minutes later. “We have a long way to go. This was a RIGGED ELECTION!”

Trump is yet to provide any evidence of fraud and election officials have described the vote as the "most secure in American history," per BBC News.

During a press conference last week, PM Justin Trudeau assured Canadians that they could be “quite certain” the U.S. election result was accurate.
