Ontario Police Are Slamming COVID-19 Flyers That Are Declaring Restrictions Are Illegal
The flyers claimed that enforcing masking was illegal.
The OPP are slammingas fake news after they were spotted circulating around the province.
In a tweet on Wednesday, police state that the notices were circulating around Prescott and other areas, as well as online.
The flyers claim that they are from "The National Council of Common Law Assemblies" and that they are issuing a "notice of public safety law outlawing COVID measures."
The notice falsely claims that COVID-19 regulations are now illegal in Canada.
This reportedly meant that anyone who imposes masking, social distancing and vaccination can be charged.
However, the OPP was quick to make the public aware that this information is not true.
"Just because someone claims a law has been passed doesn't make it true," reads the tweet from police.
In fact, the Ontario government is still urging residents to follow COVID-19 regulations.
Anyone who is spotted defying social gathering orders in their zone can be fined.
