An entire Mississauga condo building is now being tested for COVID-19 after multiple cases were reported amongst residents. According to Peel Public Health, "widespread testing" began at the condo on Monday after multiple people tested positive for the B.1.351 variant. Dr. Loh, Medical Officer of Health, Peel Region The variant, which originated from South Africa, is known to be "fast-spreading." "It is imperative that residents continue to follow the guidelines of Public Health and limit interactions with others so that we can stop the spread," Dr. Loh, Medical Officer of Health for Peel Region, stated. Testing will reportedly be conducted on a floor by floor basis from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. However, residents can also opt to attend a testing centre in the community. A total of five cases of the B.1.351 variant have been confirmed at the location.
