Movie Theatres Are Starting To Open In Ontario But Cineplex Is Staying Closed

It's time to get your popcorn ready! Movie theatres in Ontario have announced that they will be opening their doors as parts of the province enter stage three this Friday. However, the popular theatre chain Cineplex has revealed that they will be staying closed for the time being.
As parts of the provinceup dine-in restaurants, and more, some Ontario theatres have announced they will be showing movies as early as this Friday.
In an email to Narcity, Princess Cinema revealed that they will be opening their doors on July 17 in both of their Waterloo locations.
Some of the movies that will be playing opening week include Jaws and Back To The Future.
However, the location announced that there will be reduced seating and fewer shows than usual as the company works on following new safety measures.
Apollo Cinema in Kitchener also announced that they would be welcoming movie lovers back next week.
In an Instagram post, the company revealed that it would be opening on July 24. However, what movies will be playing still has yet to be announced.
If you were looking to head over to your closestto catch a movie, you will have to wait a little longer.
The company told Narcity in an email that they will not be showing movies this Friday.
While they are in the works towards opening their locations across the province, no opening dates have been announced.
"The news that Ontario is entering Stage 3 on Friday is certainly welcome by the team here at Cineplex! We are still reviewing what's being proposed by the province, so as a result we aren’t in a position to open our theatres in Ontario on Friday," the company told Narcity.
"While we are certainly excited for the day our operations can resume, our top priority has always been the health and safety of our employees and guests and ensuring that their time with us is safe, comfortable and welcoming."
However, if the movie theatres near you are keeping their doors closed, there are a variety ofacross the province that are currently open.
