Drivers in Ontario are getting cautioned by the OPP over something that really shouldn't require cautioning — "off-roading through a cemetery is not okay."

A 32-year-old from Brampton is facing charges after Caledon OPP officers learned that their Jeep was stuck in a cemetery on the night of February 22, 2021.

Police say the motorist had allegedly driven over several graves before getting stuck, though they confirmed that no gravestones were damaged.

The driver is facing two charges under the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, according to the OPP — disturbing a burial site and interfering with a cemetery.

"If you feel the need to test your 4x4 capabilities, Caledon OPP reminds everyone to be aware of your surroundings and stay off public or private lands, which do not belong to you," they wrote.
