As the province inches towards total lockdown, Toronto malls are looking quieter than ever — during what is usually the busiest time for shopping all year.

Stores, food courts and walkways are all empty, and festive decorations remain on display with nobody to admire them.

The usual bustling shopping crowds are nowhere to be seen.

Walkways and stores are close to empty.

Many of the malls still decorated for Christmas despite the lack of shoppers.

The decorations are a stark reminder of what we're missing out on this year.

It's a far cry from the shopping seasons of years past, like this snapshot of Boxing Day at the Eaton Centre in 1992.

Until then, we can look forward to the day that we'll get to elbow our way through the crowds once again.
