Suspected Drunk Driver Wreaked Havoc In BC & Flooded Several Homes Then Tried To Run Away
The footage is hectic.
Burnaby's RCMP is recommending charges against a suspectedwho smashed into a fire hydrant and wreaked havoc on a Burnaby neighbourhood in early January.
Police posted about the event on January 9, explaining that the man responsible is 61 years old and.
Apparently, when the driver struck the fire hydrant with his van, the extreme amount of water that was flowing ended up flooding several homes nearby.
"As if we weren’t drenched enough..." said Burnaby RCMP on that rainy evening.
"The driver tried to run. He’s in custody now and alcohol is suspected," they continued.
The recommended charges include "Refusal to Provide Breath Sample and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle."
The driver wouldn't do a breath test, therefore alcohol is only suspected rather than confirmed in this case.
While B.C. police have come across everything from ato impaired drivers , this situation seemed especially difficult to deal with.
