Canadian Airlines Are Officially Suspending All Flights To Sunny Destinations For Months

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the public on Friday, January 29 to provide an update on Canada's travel rules

Trudeau informed the country that Canadian air carriers will be suspending flights to sunny destinations right away.

Air Canada, WestJet, Sunwing, and Air Transat are cancelling air service to all Caribbean destinations and Mexico starting this Sunday. Justin Trudeau

The suspension will last until April 30, 2021, said the prime minister. 

"They will be making arrangements with their customers who are currently on a trip in these regions to organize their return flights," he continued. 

Trudeau continued to thank the airlines for their leadership and for being "such strong partners in the fight to curb the spread of COVID-19 and its variants."

He said the government and the airlines agree that now is not the time to be flying.
