If you're looking for a magical fall hike, you'll want to plan a trip to this stunning conservation area near Toronto. With shimmering lake views, red and gold leaves, and elevated boardwalks, it's a little slice of autumn paradise just a short drive from the city.

You can grab a coffee at a nearby cafe, then stroll along waterside trails, sipping your specialty drink and basking in the fall views.

Island Lake Conservation Area is a scenic natural area located in Orangeville, about an hour and a half from Toronto. It's home to 820 acres of forests, water, and more, making it a gorgeous spot to escape the city.

One beautiful hike to enjoy during the fall is the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail. The 8-kilometre path loops around the lake, leading you through vibrant forests and scenic views.

Along the way, you'll wander over Bob's Bridges, elevated boardwalks that take you across the water to little islands. The bridges feature beautiful lookout spots where you can pause and soak up the autumn views.

You can also explore some of the other trails, such as the Sugar Bush Trail, which takes you through a long-standing maple-beech forest.

The conservation area is minutes from downtown Orangeville, so you can spend some time exploring the quaint shops and cafes during your outing.

With vibrant, leaf-covered trails, shimmering water, and bridges that lead over the lake, this conservation area is a magical spot for an autumn day trip.
