Calling all shoppers! Costco is offering free vouchers for a limited time that can save you money when you're shopping at the wholesale retailer.

If you have a Costco membership and know people who don't but want to get one, you might want to check this out.

This free voucher offer is available through the "Refer a Friend" promo that's happening with Costco Canada right now.

You need to bring a friend — or anyone you know really — to a Membership Counter at any Costco location in Canada to get this deal.

Then, when the person you bring in signs up for a new Costco membership, show the Refer a Friend page on the Costco site to the membership clerk.

If they sign up for an Executive membership, you will each receive a $50 free Costco voucher that can be used when you're shopping online.

To be able to redeem that voucher, you need to spend a minimum of $150 with the online store.

An Executive membership has an annual fee of $120 and here's what you get:

  • two membership cards
  • access to all Costco locations worldwide
  • access to online shopping
  • exclusive offers and additional discounts
  • an annual 2% reward on warehouse, online and Costco Travel purchases

If the person you bring into a Costco Canada location signs up for a Gold Star membership, you will each receive a $25 online voucher.

There is a minimum spend requirement of $100 to be able to use that voucher when online shopping at Costco.

With a Gold Star membership, you have to pay a $60 annual fee and you get:

  • two membership cards
  • access to all Costco locations worldwide
  • access to online shopping

Costco's free online voucher offer is happening until September 3, 2023, and is only available to members who bring in a friend who then signs up as a new Costco member.

Someone is considered a "new member" if they haven't had a membership card before, of course, but also if their previous membership has been expired for 18 months or more.

The $50 online voucher can be used until October 1 for online merchandise purchases that are $150 or more in a single transaction before taxes, fees and shipping. Only one $50 online voucher can be used per member per transaction.

If you get the $25 online voucher from Costco, it is also valid until October 1 for online purchases of $100 or more in one transaction before taxes, fees and shipping.

You can only use one $25 online voucher per transaction during Costco's Refer a Friend promo.

Happy saving!
