A Canadian has just become a new Lotto Max winner because they matched all seven winning numbers. Additionally, two Ontario lottery winners scored a Maxmillions prize, so you might want to check your tickets ASAP.

On Tuesday evening, the Lotto Max reached $70 million, and someone in the Prairies has the winning ticket.

Why you should care: Winning the Lotto Max jackpot is a life-changing event, and someone in the Prairies became a multi-millionaire overnight. So, if you live in the area and bought a ticket for the January 16 draw, it might be wise to check your numbers.

What they're saying: The winning Lotto Max numbers for Tuesday's draw were 02-09-10-14-42-43-44 and bonus number 25. Someone in the Prairies got all seven winning numbers and scored $70 million.

Meanwhile, two lucky winners in Sarnia and Grey County in Ontario won one of the million-dollar Maxmillion prizes, equalling $500,000 each.

ICYMI: The $70 million Lotto Max jackpot draw took place on Tuesday, January 16.

For every $5 lottery ticket purchased, players get three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine. If you match all seven numbers, you win the jackpot.

Additionally, whenever the Lotto Max reaches $50 million, Maxmillions draws are also taken into effect to make more dreams come true.

The winners' names for the most recent draw have not yet been revealed, but stay tuned for more information.

What comes next: The next Lotto Max draw is scheduled for Friday, January 19 and it's currently an estimated $19 million, so if you're feeling lucky, make sure to buy your ticket.
