If you're looking to explore some incredible destinations in Canada, you may want to add this dreamy Ontario island to your bucket list. With crystal waters and sandy shores, it's a little slice of paradise and was recently named among the top travel destinations in the country.

CBC's The Current recently asked Canadians to share their favourite travel destinations, gathering thousands of submissions from across the country.

After narrowing the entries down, they've released a shortlist of 20 bucket list destinations—including this breathtaking Ontario gem.

The list will be trimmed to feature just 10 destinations, and even if this Ontario spot doesn't make the final cut, it's still worth exploring.

Manitoulin Island is a stunning summer paradise surrounded by the sparkling waters of Lake Huron.

At 2765 square kilometres, it's the largest freshwater island in the world and is home to dreamy landscapes and natural wonders.

If you visit during the summer, you'll want to spend some time at the beautiful Providence Bay Beach. The serene shoreline features soft sand shores and crystal waters that will transport you to the tropics.

Bring your hiking boots because the Cup & Saucer Trail is worth exploring. The scenic adventure leads to a breathtaking lookout over the island.

Another top spot to explore is Bridal Veil Falls. The hidden waterfall cascades into a crystal pool of water, and you can even go for a swim.

Other attractions to visit include the East Bluff Lookout, Misery Bay Provincial Nature Reserve and South Baymouth Range Front Lighthouse.

To reach Manitoulin Island, you can either drive across the Little Current Swing Bridge from Sudbury or take the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry from Tobermory.

Stratford was the only other Ontario destination to make CBC's top 20 list. Who knows, maybe this enchanting island will earn a spot in the top 10!
