It didn't take long for memes to start appearing online! 🤣

Managing Editor, Canada

If you felt a tremble this morning, you're not the only one! A 3.8 magnitude earthquake shook Montreal on Monday and there are already memes to prove it.

Earthquakes Canada confirmed that the seismic event occurred at around 7 a.m. in the Joliette region of Quebec.

While the agency said there are "no reports of damage," it said trembles were felt as far as Montreal and Repentigny.

Shortly after the earthquake occurred, residents of different regions of Quebec took to social media to share their experiences of the tremble.

Within minutes, Twitter users were already sharing light-hearted memes about the event, joking that they'd been woken up by the light shaking.

One person joked, "Waking up to an earthquake is so 2021," while another asked, "Who needs and alarm, when you can wake up to an earthquake in Montreal?"

Earthquakes Canada asks anybody who experienced the earthquake to report it via their official website, so the federal agency can track how far away the tremble was felt.
