If you're looking to do some last-minute leaf-peeping in Ontario, you'll want to road trip to this destination. With vibrant forests and roads that wind through an array of colours, this spot will have you feeling like you've stepped into an autumn dreamland.

Muskoka, Ontario is the place to be during the fall and is located just over 2 hours from Toronto.

According to Discover Muskoka, the region is home to "the best fall colours in Ontario." You can hike your way thorough red and gold wonderlands, drive beneath colourful canopies and more.

One of the best ways to experience the colours is by exploring some of Muskoka's trails. According to Discover Muskoka, Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve boasts "20 private lakes, 70 kilometres of trails, and 10,000+ acres of unspoiled wildlife," making it an idyllic spot for a hike.

You can also head to provincial parks like Algonquin and Hardy Lake for more fantastic autumn scenery.

Up for a climb? There are several lookout points in Muskoka that offer sweeping views of the foliage below. The Dorset Lookout Tower and Lion's Lookout are among the places where you can soak up the surrounding colours.

There's no need to work up a sweat in order to enjoy the colours. Muskoka has 10 driving routes that take you through tunnels of red and gold leaves.

There are some more unique ways to explore the fall foliage, such as a treetop adventure with Treetop Trekking.
