Code 8 Part II is now available on Netflix and although the movie is set in the fictional Lincoln City, it was filmed in Toronto and surrounding cities in Ontario.
The sci-fi film was not only filmed in the Canadian province, but two of its lead stars, Robbie Amell and Stephen Amell, are also proud Torontonians.
The two cousins shared their connections to the city where they grew up and how great it was to shoot their new film close to home.

In the sequel to Code 8, Connor (played by Robbie Amell) is out of prison and working at a community center, having cut ties with his former criminal associate Garrett (played by Stephen Amell). Connor is trying to stay clear of any trouble when he's forced to help a young girl escape from a pack of corrupt officers.
Code 8 Part II has been a hit since its release and reached number one on Netflix's Top 10 Film list worldwide with 20 million views as of March 3, according to Netflix.
It's been added to Netflix In Your Neighbourhood, which highlights filming locations across Canada.
Here are all the cities where the movie was filmed and what Robbie and Stephen have said about being in Toronto to work on this project.
Toronto
From an impressive skyline to a thriving urban atmosphere, Netflix says Toronto is a major hub for Canada's entertainment industry.
"Code 8 Part II made use of the city’s industrial pockets for filming, capturing the gritty and corrupt, fictional Lincoln City," the Netflix In Your Neighbourhood website reads.
Toronto's Danforth neighbourhood and Ted's Restaurant in Scarborough were both filming locations for Code 8 Part II.
Mississauga
Mississauga is another large municipality in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) that has a lot to offer film projects, including its historic villages, nature trails and sprawling post-secondary campuses.
It's one of those campuses that was used for this Netflix film.
In the Code 8 sequel, the University of Toronto's Mississauga campus stood in for the Lincoln Police Headquarters.
Hamilton
Hamilton offers a lot of history as one of Ontario's oldest cities and that's exactly why production chose to shoot part of the film there.
Code 8 Part II was filmed at one of Hamilton's historical homes, the Manor House of Auchmar. The "Gothic revival-style mansion" was transformed into an abandoned orphanage for the Netflix movie.
Kingston
Known as the "Limestone City" thanks to its historic architecture, Kingston was another city Code 8 Part II was filmed in.
You may recognize the Kingston Penitentiary, which is now a museum, in the opening scene of the film.
It's used as the prison that Connor (played by Robbie Amell) is released from.
Robbie Amell and Stephen Amell loved filming in Toronto
Stephen Amell and Robbie Amell during a Q&A for Netflix In Your Neighbourhood.
Robbie Amell and Stephen Amell agreed the best part of filming in Canada was being close to family and home.
In a Q&A, Robbie mentioned he was thankful they weren't shooting the film during Toronto's cold months, but Stephen, who now lives in Los Angeles, disagreed and said it was still "pretty cold."
As for their favourite filming location, the actors agreed it was Hamilton, where they spent a week filming a scene under a bridge.
"There was a big fight scene with powers, with car stunts, with gun shots. It was in this big industrial area so we weren't limited to sound [...] it felt like an action movie," Robbie said.
"That was a very, very cool location. That was cold," Stephen added.
The two actors also shared their favourite local restaurant when they were filming in Hamilton was The Keg.
They also gave a shout-out to St. Louis Bar & Grill, which is a spot they went to when filming the first Code 8 movie.
"It's the best chicken wing spot," Stephen shared.
"They're so good. Get hot and honey if you go," Robbie chimed in.
