"The bar to stay home needs to be lower than we've ever had it before," said Henry, before continuing that locals must keep their social bubbles small and exclusive.

Between Friday, August 28 to Monday, August 31, 294 new cases were identified, pushing the province past the 1,000 active case mark for the first time ever.

She warned people to "slow down" on social interactions like those seen in recent days; "we need to step back to allow us to safely move forward," she said.
