Orange County residents may be eligible for another round of county-issue stimulus checks this month, provided by the Federal CARES act.

The Individual and Family Assistance Program will reopen the application system on Monday, July 13, beginning at 8 a.m., for a one-time payment of $1000, but the website does not specify how many applications will be accepted.

As part of the Federal CARES Act, Orange County Government has received $243 million in Coronavirus Relief Funds. These funds will be distributed back into the community, and used for local government expenses related to the response to COVID-19.

Residents can apply for rent, utility, and medical assistance by proving they live in Orange County, are a legal U.S. citizen, and lost a job or hours due to COVID-19 with their required documents at the ready.

Accepted applicants will receive a direct payment via a check in the mail.

The application window will close on Saturday, December 19, 2020, or when funds have run out, depending on which comes first.
