If you're ever feeling down in the dumps, just take a peek at what's going on with the Nunavut weather and it will remind you that it could be way, way worse.

-60 C With windchill before the temperatures rise

Extreme cold warnings are in effect now and will remain in parts of the region through Wednesday.

Nunavut and other parts of northern Canada are predicted to see a record-breaking cold this week.

"Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill," warnings state.

In fact, a table shared by The Weather Network shows that skin freezes in less than two minutes in temperatures below -54 C.

So, the people of Nunavut may be in for some sweet relief at the end of the week.

But even the high temperatures of the week match some of the colder days for other parts of the country. Poor, sweet Nunavut.
