Ontario has a 'Blue Coast' with charming beach towns and the 'bluest crystal water' around

It's a mini summer paradise.

Lead Writer, Travel

This Ontario region is a summer oasis with endless sandy shores, crystal waters, and dreamy beaches. You can spend your days soaking up sun, splashing through waves and exploring beachside towns at this spot.

Lambton County, located along the shores of Lake Huron, is a beautiful region known for its scenic beauty and more than 300 kilometres of waterfront, earning it the name "Ontario's Blue Coast."

According to Great Lakes Scuttlebutt, the area is home to some of the "bluest crystal water this side of the equator," making it an ideal spot for a summer getaway.

It's also home to two of Canada's 26 Blue Flag Beaches: Canatara Beach and Grand Bend Beach, both recognized for their excellent water quality and high safety standards.

Grand Bend Beach is located in Grand Bend, known as one of "Canada's best beach towns." The destination has gorgeous white sand shores, restaurants, shops, and more.

You'll want to stay late, as Grand Bend is renowned for its stunning sunsets, which transform the sky with vibrant hues.

Canatara Beach is a hidden gem stretching nearly a kilometre along the shoreline.

If you're looking for a quieter experience, you can visit Ipperwash Beach or Pinery Beach.

Pinery Beach is located in beautiful Pinery Provincial Park and boasts rolling dunes, stunning trails, and more.

In addition to beaches, Ontario's Blue Coast has an incredible culinary scene, waterfront cycling adventures, camping destinations, and scenic hikes.

If a coastal getaway is on your summer bucket list, you might want to plan a trip to Ontario's Blue Coast.
