Powdery, white sand shores, rolling dunes and turquoise water might sound like something you'd find on a tropical getaway, but this dreamy Ontario park offers all this and more.

Located just under three hours from Toronto, the destination is a summer paradise that will have you feeling like you're vacationing in the Caribbean.

Sandbanks Provincial Park is a breathtaking destination located on the shores of Lake Ontario in Prince Edward County.

The park is home to three stunning white-sand beaches, which, according to the website, "are among the best in Canada."

Outlet Beach is the park's most popular area, offering a 2-kilometre expanse of powdery sand that slopes gradually into the water.

Lakeshore Beach also has soft, fine sand and a gradual drop-off, and, at 7 kilometres, is much longer than Outlet Beach.

According to Friends of Sandbanks Park, Dunes Beach is "easily the most visually stunning," featuring warm, clear waters and rolling dunes that will whisk you away to the tropics.

Aside from enjoying the park's beautiful beaches, you can adventure along some of the scenic trails that wind through stunning scenery.

You can explore the Sandbanks Dunes Trail, which features a "unique and fragile dune habitat" that's the "largest of its kind in the world." The path leads past powdery mountains of sand that will make you forget you're in Canada.

Or, check out the Lakeview Trail, which leads to beautiful lookouts over Lake Ontario and connects the historical sites of the Lakeshore and Lakeview Lodges.

Sandbanks Provincial Park can get busy, so you'll want to book a daily vehicle permit ahead of time online.

With its rolling dunes and shimmering waters, Sandbanks Provincial Park is a scene straight off a tropical postcard.
