Parts Of Ontario Are Under A Frost Advisory Right Now & Temps Could Fall To Freezing
It’s going to be a chilly end to the week, according to Ontario's weather forecast. Environment Canada has issued a frost warning for eastern parts of the province and the Ottawa Valley, as temperatures are expected to drop to almost freezing. While it’s definitely not ideal conditions for mid-June, the cold isn’t expected to stick around!
Residents of eastern Ontario may have to grab an extra sweater tonight, as temperatures in parts of the province are expected to plummet to almost freezing.
On Sunday, June 14, Environment Canada issued a frost advisory for the Ottawa Valley and beyond, warning that cold conditions and almost-freezing temperatures are on the horizon.
The advisory explains that patchy frost is "likely tonight into Monday morning as ground temperatures fall to near the freezing mark."
The notice urges any plant-lovers to take necessary precautions, as these conditions will be harmful to any frost-sensitive plants and trees.
The forecast low for the region is 2 C overnight, with temperatures reaching as low as -1 C into Sunday morning.
While the City of Ottawa is not listed under the frost advisory, the notice does extend west into the Algonquin region.
Despite the low temperatures that will start next week off, there’s plenty of sun and heat on the horizon.
Most of the province can expect summer-like conditions throughout next week, with some places even expected to experience temperatures of 33 C next weekend.
These cold spells follow a week-or-so of unusual weather patterns across the province, as some regions experienced snow this week, while others saw heat waves and 40 C conditions.
Violent winds, hail and even tornadoes were spotted in some places this week, proving that the season’s end has been everything but consistent!
With the official start of the summer now just one short week away, there’s good news in store for heat-lovers.
