This Backstreet Boy Is Bringing Miami To Central Florida With A New $35M Condo Complex

A touch of South Beach!
Contributor

Miami Beach has become an inspiration for one member of the Backstreet Boys. Howie D condo complex is aimed at bringing the luxury of Miami Beach to Central Florida. The $35 million property in Cocoa Beach is set for September.

"We're bringing a slice of Miami-South Beach," Howie Dorough said in an interview with Florida Today. "Cocoa Beach is a hidden gem to me. That's why I relocated my family here, instead of Orlando."

The condo complex will consist of a 25-unit building that will take over the land previously home to Ocean Dunes.

It will be a splash of South Beach in Central Florida, with a second-floor swimming pool, spa, and fire pit being among the amenities of The Surf. Dorough has brought on Christopher Burton, a well-known luxury home builder to work on the project.

"The building is not just unique to Cocoa Beach, but it really is one-of-a-kind for Brevard," Burton told Florida Today. "You really need to get down to Miami and Fort Lauderdale and Jupiter and places like that to find buildings that are designed like this."

If you're looking to rent one of these condos, you can expect to pay from $800,000 to $2.2 million to stay in this luxury building.

The upscale condominium will also feature beach views for those who pick an oceanfront unit.

While running a real estate firm called the Dorough Brothers Development and Consulting, Howie D continues to perform with the Backstreet Boys.

The group's latest album, DNA, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in early 2019.

The '90s boy band was supposed to be on tour this summer, but the novel coronavirus pandemic forced them to reschedule their North American leg to 2021.
