This hike near Ottawa is extra magical during the fall. With vibrant red and orange foliage, leaf-covered stairways, a lookout and a rare turquoise lake, you'll feel like you've stepped into an autumn dream at this spot.

Pink Lake, located in Gatineau Park, is worth adding to your fall plans.

Located just 20 minutes away from Ottawa, the destination is a beautiful spot to soak up the splendour of the season.

According to the NCC, Pink Lake's "rare beauty makes it one of the most popular sites in the Park."

You can follow the Pink Lake Trail which loops around the sparkling turquoise waters. The 2.3 kilometre hike takes about an hour to complete.

Along the way, you can drink in the views of the rare meromictic lake which gets its vibrant colour because of its layers of water that do not intermix.

The lake features a gorgeous lookout where you'll want to snap some photos.

Pink Lake can get quite busy during the fall, so it's best if you can visit during the week. Alternatively, you can head to less busy areas like Meech Creek Valley or Philippe Lake.

As Pink Lake is very fragile, be sure to follow the Park's principles of outdoor ethics.

Enjoy the views at this spot!
