It was an unusual start to the day for some Ottawans.

On Tuesday morning, police in Ottawa had to investigate a suspicious package that was reported on an OC Transpo bus, according to CTV News.

The package forced the closure of the Tunney's Pasture bus loop in the city.

Ottawa police say a call related to the item came in at 11:11 a.m. on Tuesday.

They say the bus is now vacant as investigators on the scene are assessing the nature of the unusual package.

OC Transpo initially took to Twitter to say the bus loop was closed and confirmed that transport would be available on Holland Avenue, instead.

In another update at around 12:00 p.m., police confirmed that Tunney’s Pasture was fully closed due to “ongoing police activity.”

Officials also confirmed that staff are on-site to help commuters and other services are still up and running.
