It's getting hot in the desert, and there seems to be no end in sight as an Arizona excessive heat watch has been issued in central parts of the state.

Just this week, Phoenix has experienced comparable weather to that of Death Valley with temps expected to increase through the weekend.

The NWS issued this heat watch for some parts of south-central Arizona from Saturday, July 11, through Monday, July 13, 2020.

With such scorching temps ahead, there's an increased risk of heat-related illnesses, including heatstroke.

It looks like it's going to be a sweltering summer.
