From Junior Compensation Advisors to Data Collection Clerks, the federal statistical agency is hiring for various positions across the country.

Junior Compensation Advisor

Salary: $60,424 to $67,582 per year

Location: Edmonton, AB; Vancouver, BC; Winnipeg, MB; Halifax, NS; Ottawa, ON; Sturgeon Falls, ON; Toronto, ON; Montreal, QC; or Sherbrooke, QC

Closing Date: May 6, 2025

Who Should Apply: You should apply if you have a secondary school diploma (or equivalent) or have experience in similar positions or certificate programs related to human resources or administration.

Experience in client services and Microsoft software programs like Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word is also required. Bonus points if you have experience working in the areas of compensation, the Phoenix pay system, HR, administration or finance.

Key responsibilities include calculating employee compensation entitlements, analyzing and processing compensation transaction requests, interpreting and applying HR policies, guiding employees on compensation matters and maintaining accurate compensation records.

Part-Time Data Collection Clerk

Salary: Approx. $26.48 to $28.57 per hour (plus potentially applicable premiums such as benefits and an isolated post allowance of $9,499 to $43,762 per year, depending on location)

Location: Nunavut, Northwest Territories or Yukon

Closing Date: December 31, 2024

Who Should Apply: You can apply if you have a minimum of two years of secondary education or equivalent. Experience dealing with the public over the phone or in person, such as in a call centre or customer service role, is essential. Also, experience in using various computer software and research tools is required.

Primary responsibilities will include data collection, organizing survey data, ensuring data accuracy and effectively communicating with respondents in or close to your residence area.

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including integrity, critical thinking, teamwork and initiative. Effective written and oral communication abilities are crucial for interacting with respondents and accurately documenting survey data.

Data Collection Clerk (casual inventory, Western region)

Salary: Approx. $26.48 to $28.57 per hour

Location: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba or Saskatchewan

Closing Date: September 30, 2024

Who Should Apply: You must have completed secondary school according to provincial standards (or equivalent). An acceptable alternative includes two years of secondary school and at least two years of relevant work experience.

You should also have experience interacting with the public, either in person or over the phone, in roles such as a call centre representative, customer service agent, help desk technician or technical support specialist.

Proficiency in various computer software packages and applications, such as Microsoft Office suite and research tools, is also required to perform daily tasks like launching applications, editing documents and running software programs.

You must be willing and able to travel and work overtime as needed. You must also have reliable telephone service or cellphone coverage at your residence. Additionally, having a valid driver's license and unrestricted vehicle use may be required for mobility purposes.

Location: New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Quebec

Who Should Apply: Statistics Canada is also looking to fill a casual inventory of Data Collection Clerks for the Eastern region of the country.

While the job qualifications and duties are the same, the application window for this side of the country is longer as the posting will be open until November.
