If you dream of exploring some of Canada's most beautiful destinations, you'll want to plan a trip to this storybook spot in Ontario. With quaint streets and old-world charm, it's like a mini trip to Europe and was recently named among the top travel destinations in the country.

CBC's The Current asked Canadians to share their favourite travel destinations from coast to coast.

After reviewing the thousands of entries received, they've unveiled a shortlist of 20 must-visit spots—one of which is a dreamy town right here in Ontario.

While only 10 locations will make the final list, this Ontario getaway is worth keeping on your travel radar.

Stratford is a picturesque destination located along the shores of the Avon River. While it is technically a city, it's full of small-town charm and quaint shops, making it a beautiful spot for a getaway.

Stratford is named after Stratford on Avon in England, and you'll feel like you're on a little trip to Europe as you wander along the old-world streets and stop by the cozy cafes.

The destination is renowned for its arts scene, particularly its annual theatre festival from April to October. This season, you can enjoy performances such as Anne of Green Gables and Sense and Sensibility.

Aside from enjoying the arts, you can shop at Stratford's many local boutiques, enjoy its delicious restaurants, and follow some of its food trails, such as the Chocolate Trail.

The city is also home to beautiful gardens, trails, and parks where you can get lost in serene nature.

Bieber fans will want to check out the Justin Bieber Exhibit at the Stratford Perth Museum, which gives a behind-the-scenes look at the star's life growing up in the area.

Manitoulin Island was the only other Ontario destination to make CBC's top 20 list. Keep your eyes peeled to see if Stratford will earn a spot in the top 10!
