Tim Hortons is bringing back its Roll Up To Win contest for 2024 and there are a lot of great prizes this year, although the days of actually rolling up the rim of your cup seem to be long gone.
The coffee chain has made a few changes this year so you may want to brush up on the rules and how to redeem prizes so you're all set to start playing.
The Roll Up To Win contest kicks off digitally in Canada on March 4 and runs through to March 31, 2024. And no, you're not expected to actually roll up the rim of your coffee cup these days.
Here are all the changes you need to know about, the rules on how to play, and what you can win as well as how to redeem the prizes.
What's new about Roll Up To Win in 2024?
Tim Hortons has made a few changes to the popular Roll Up To Win contest in 2024.
The Canadian coffee chain is celebrating its 60th anniversary by offering an extra way to win prizes. Customers who reveal 60 rolls throughout the contest period are eligible for a chance to win one 60th Roll Reveal Prize.
Those prizes include a $10 Home Hardware eGift Card, $10 The Bay Promotional eGift Card, $10 Rakuten Cash or $10 Tims Gift Card.
Anyone with a Tims Mastercard can earn one bonus roll per day by simply using their card. Those who don't have a Tims Mastercard and choose to open a new account will get 60 bonus rolls.
Tim Hortons is also bringing back its Tims Financial $10K Daily Jackpot prize. Each time you reveal a roll, you'll get an entry to the jackpot contest, even if the roll is not a winner.
The daily $10,000 jackpot will be paid out in Mastercard prepaid cards this year.
How do you play Roll Up To Win at Tim Hortons?
To get started with Roll Up To Win, you have to download the latest version of the Tims App on your mobile device.
You can also log into your account online at www.rolluptowin.ca to reveal your rolls for a chance to win.
If you have a physical card, make sure it's registered online so you can reveal your rolls.
During the contest, you have to scan for Tims Rewards when buying one of the eligible menu items in order to earn digital rolls.
These are the eligible menu items that will get you one roll per item:
- Small, medium, large or extra-large hot beverages (excluding espresso shots and added espresso shots)
- Small, medium or large cold beverages (excluding ready-made drinks like milk, bottled water or pop and fountain pop)
- Farmers Breakfast Wraps — with bacon, sausage or egg and cheese
- Grilled Breakfast Wrap — with bacon, sausage or egg
- Bagel BELT — with bacon or sausage
- Breakfast Sandwich — with English muffin, biscuit, bacon, sausage, and/or egg and cheese
- Lunch and dinner artisan sandwich, craveables or melt
- Lunch and dinner grilled wrap
- Flatbread pizza
- Soup, chilli or hot bowl
- Loaded Wrap or Loaded Bowl
No baked goods, Tims at Home or other retail items, nor any products received by redeeming a Roll Up To Win prize won previously, Tims Rewards points or Tims it Forward gifts are eligible to earn digital rolls.
You can also earn bonus rolls if you use a Tims Mastercard for the purchase. If you're using your Mastercard to buy Tim Hortons items, make sure you scan for Tims Rewards before completing the purchase or have your Tims Mastercard linked to the scan and pay or mobile order functions in the app. Rolls can't be added after you've paid.
You can get bonus rolls for applying for a new Tims Mastercard as well. A new account will get 60 bonus rolls.

How do you redeem prizes with Roll Up To Win?
All rolls must be revealed on or before April 12, 2024, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET.
All coffee and food instant prizes and 10-pack of Timbits instant prizes must be claimed by April 17, 2024 and all other prizes must be claimed by May 12, 2024.
The process of redeeming prizes varies based on what you win.
Coffee, donut and 10-pack Timbits prizes will be issued in the form of a prize offer in the "Offers" section of your Tims Rewards account.
If you win one of these prices, you have to go to "Offers" and hit "Activate." Then, you can redeem your coffee or food prize by scanning for Tims Rewards the next time you make a purchase.
Don’t forget to add the eligible item to your checkout basket for the offer to automatically apply.
Tims Rewards points prizes will automatically be added to your Tims Rewards account and can be redeemed as usual.
Most of the Tim Card prizes will be automatically added to your digital Tim Gift Card balance after you've won.
If you win any of the other prizes, details on how to claim your prize will come up on the screen and will be emailed to you. The instructions can also be accessed on-demand in the "Roll Up Rundown" section inside the Tims App or on the website (www.rolluptowin.ca).
What happened to Tim Hortons' Roll Up The Rim To Win contest?
The original Tim Hortons Roll Up The Rim To Win contest encouraged people to actually roll up the rim of their coffee cup in order to play and win prizes.
Tim Hortons stopped using cups for the promotion in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, as they said it wasn't the healthiest thing to be trading in cups that people have put in their mouths.
The contest has been digital ever since, and they've even dropped the word "Rim" from the name of the contest in recent years.
