Things To Do In St Pete Include Electric Bike And Car Rentals To Explore the City

Ahh, The Sunshine State — an absolute paradise with so much to do and discover, especially in and around the bustling cities of Orlando, Miami, Tampa, and St. Petersburg. Instead of trekking by foot around historic neighborhoods, there's a new way to explore all the things to do in St. Pete. By way of electric bike and electric mini car rentals, this budding business will have you cruising through the city.

New to the city of St. Petersburg, Scoot Scoot Rentals has two options for visitors to check out downtown. Narcity got in touch with co-owner and wife, Maria Brown, to learn a bit more about what they have in store.

Scoot Scoot has two different wheels for you to choose from, the Electric Ebike, or the Mini Scoot Coupe. Their Pace 350 EBike offers you a little bit more than your average bicycle too.

With a throttle that can get you cruising up to 25 miles per hour, you can take an exciting ride along the waterfront at Vinoy Park, as well as follow a sidewalk trail that winds you through the Snell Isle and the Old Northeast neighborhood's multi-million dollar homes.

Those looking for a little work out can use the pedal assist. But if you don't feel like peddling away, the throttle will let you cruise along leisurely — which will definitely come in handy when going uphill.

If you want to sit back and relax, the Scoot Coupe might be more your speed.

With an automatic transmission, easy twist-and-go controls, and space for two, it's great for couples as a fun date day activity or parents with their kids as you explore the area near the new St. Pete Pier.

So what are you looking at price wise to rent one of these?

Prices range between $30 for a 1-hour Ebike rental upwards to around $200 for an 8-hour Scoot Coupe slot. Costs will fluctuate depending on which one you book and how long you reserve your ride for, including a $15 insurance fee as well.

Those looking to cruise St. Pete can book online or by phone to 727-655-8636. Using code "scootscoot20" when booking through the website will save riders 20% off total costs.

While they don't have a brick n' mortar shop just yet, Brown says that they meet with renters at the corner of Bayshore Dr. and 1st Avenue South East near the Rowdie's Stadium parking lot to drop off and pick up rentals — just look for the pink and blue Scoot Scoot Rentals flag.
